CHISINAU – Moldova has recorded 5,553 coronavirus cases, the death toll has reached 194, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbraveanu said following a meeting of the crisis center for coronavirus response on May 14 evening.
In total, 1,103 tests for coronavirus were taken on May 14, including 892 initial tests and 211 repeated ones, she said.
“Thus, 147 new infections were registered, including 41 in Chisinau, 25 in Soroca, and nine in the Transdniestrian region. Fifty-two people recovered over the past 24 hours. The total number of recoveries reached 2,228. Unfortunately, another nine people have died, bringing the total death toll to 194 people,” the minister said.
According to the Transdniestrian operative coronavirus response headquarters, the region recorded 710 Covid-19 infections, 298 recoveries, and 28 deaths.
