The White House considers Russia’s return to the international negotiating table inevitable, and “compromises” can allow it to re-enter the G8. This on June 28, said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, reports Deutsche Welle.
In a speech before the senators, Pompeo did not specify what compromises could be discussed. However, he insisted that Washington’s position on Crimea remains unchanged – Russia illegally annexed the Ukrainian peninsula. This led to the exclusion of the Russian Federation from the then G8.
