The Russian-occupation administration of the Crimean peninsula is flagrantly violating human rights on the temporarily occupied peninsula, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said.

He made the relevant statement on Twitter on August 17, in response to illegal searches and the detention of five Crimean Tatars in Crimea.

“Russia is again flagrantly violating human rights in the occupied Crimea. Searches and detentions took place in the houses of the Crimean Tatars this morning. These unacceptable persecutions must be stopped immediately, and people must be released. The international community must respond appropriately to violations,” Zelensky said
