President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said that instigators of a panic around the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from Wuhan must be punished, while residents of certain regions of the country should not be slammed.
“I understand that some of the local residents were concerned. We know that some people consciously and intentionally spread panic among people and instigated this wildness. The paymasters and organizers will be punished,” he said in an address to the Ukrainian people posted on Facebook on Feb. 21.
He also said that residents of certain regions should not be slammed.
“At the same time, I am sure that indifference has nothing in common with geography. And most people in Lviv and Ternopil region were ready to help and receive the evacuated Ukrainians. That is why behavior of certain doctors and residents should not become a reason for slamming the whole region and breaking up Ukraine. No matter how much our enemies want this,” the head of state said.
