The disengagement of forces and weapons in the settlement of Zolote in Luhansk region in the area of the Joint Forces Operations (JFO) took place in a due time and without incidents, said President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a visit to the office of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in Ukraine and meeting with mission’s chief Yaşar Halit Çevik.

“Despite the difficult situation, we have carried out disengagement near Zolote. We have done everything in a due time and safe manner. We are grateful to the military, to the OSCE and to everyone who helped us,” the president stressed.

As the president’s press service reported, Zelensky said that he personally has visited the areas where disengagement is planned in order to examine the living conditions of local residents and hear their attitude to disengagement.

“We were in Stanytsia Luhanska. The bridge will be built there by the end of November. Then we were in Zolote. We see that almost everyone is waiting for disengagement and is glad that it was planned,” he said.

Zelensky told that the state authorities were dealing with the infrastructure issues, access of ambulances and doctors to local residents in Zolote.
