President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the decision on Ukraine’s accession to NATO cannot be postponed for the future, it must be resolved immediately.

“I think that if we are welcome in NATO, if they really want to see us as a member, then it’s no use looking into the binoculars, into some distant future and discussing this future. The issue should be resolved immediately,” Zelensky said in an interview with Axios.

“We are in danger right now, our independence is at stake right now, and it is now that we need help,” he noted.

Zelensky added that he believes in Ukraine’s accession to NATO, but the country’s citizens are no longer as sure of this as they used to be.
