You're reading: UNIAN: Ukraine diplomats furious over UK newspaper `advertising` Russian-backed separatists

In its “Pictures of the Day” section on July 11, 2018, the Telegraph chose to publish a photo showing who the editors described as “members of a special military unit of the separatist self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic” taking part in a drill in the militant-stronghold of Luhansk, the regional center in eastern Ukraine which is now beyond Ukraine government control.

“It’s shameful to see the Telegraph advertising Russian-led terrorists in eastern #Ukraine,” the Ukrainian embassy in the UK wrote on Facebook.
