On September 25, 2018, the Latvian Cabinet of Ministers approved the posting of civilian Olegs Lagutins to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.

As soon as he joins the team, there will be eight Latvian civilian monitors on the OSCE SMM to Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported, LSM.lv wrote.
