In connection with the presentation of the Global Humanitarian Response Plan to COVID-19 pandemic, UN Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator Osnat Lubrani introduced the “Humanitarian Response Plan to COVID-19 Coronavirus Infection Pandemic in Ukraine,” which requires $165 million, according to the UN Office in Ukraine.

“The plan outlines the response of UN agencies, humanitarian organizations in the field, medical institutions and health care providers to minimize the possible humanitarian consequences of the spread of a viral infection, which is estimated to constitute a threat to almost 21 million people in Ukraine,” the statement published on the website of the Mission on March 26 reads.

The plan presented highlights the need to raise $165 million in support of the response over the next nine months.

“The plan takes into account both the consequences of the epidemic on public health and its significant indirect effect on the well-being of people and communities, which concerns not only the spread of the disease, but also covers various areas of life: from education, livelihoods, mental health of people to the possibility of implementation of fundamental human rights,” the Representative Office emphasized.
