A fifth prisoner exchange took place on April 19 between Ukraine and Russia since Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin ordered a full-scale invasion of the neighboring country in late February.
Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said 76 Ukrainian captives were released. Ten military officers, 60 service personnel and 16 civilians were freed, she said on Facebook.
She didn’t say how many Russians were swapped but previous exchanges were on parity level.
April 14 saw the fourth prisoner exchange with each side swapping 30 captives. Eighty-six prisoners were exchanged on parity on April 1, for example. Ten on each side were exchanged on March 24.
