Ukraine and Croatia are working on plans to expand defense cooperation in the sphere of aircraft repair, and in particular, in the program of modernization of light transport An-32 aircraft with a carrying capacity of 6.7 tonnes of Croatian Air Forces.
According to a report on the Antonov State Enterprise’s website, the possibilities of organizing partnership to extend the lifespan and modernization of the An-32 aircraft of Croatian Air Force were discussed during negotiations with representatives of the Defense Ministry and the Croatian Air Force during Le Bourget 2019 International Paris Air Show.
According to the report, at this stage the Croatian side voiced interest in extending the lifespan and modernization of the two An-32 aircraft of Air Forces of Croatia.
According to sources of Interfax-Ukraine in the defense sector, An-32 light transport aircraft has been part of the Croatian Air Forces’ fleet since 1995.
Earlier, Ukraine had repaired and modernized MiG-21 aircraft of the Air Forces of the Republic of Croatia, as well as Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters under an order of the Defense Ministry of Croatia.
