You're reading: Ukraine and Hungary sign gas transmission inter-operator agreement

The gas transmission system operators of Ukraine and Hungary – LLC Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) and FGSZ – on Dec. 2o signed an inter-operator agreement on points of connection between the countries, which will enter into force on Jan. 1, 2020.

“The GTSOU and FGSZ agreed on the terms of cooperation at the points of connection between Berehove and Beregdaróc, which are fully consistent with the rules of cross-border cooperation and EU law,” the Ukrainian operator said in a statement.

Moreover, from Jan. 1, 2020, standard business rules, which until then were blocked for other network users by a long-term contract with Gazprom (Russia), will also apply at the Berehove junction.
