Russia-backed separatists fired at the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces 13 times on Oct. 31, wounding two Ukrainian soldiers, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has reported.

“Today, Russian occupying forces fired at the fortified positions of the Joint Forces 13 times. The use of weapons proscribed by the Minsk agreements was recorded once,” the JFO press center said in a report on its Facebook page on Oct. 31.

It notes that illegal armed groups used grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machineguns and small arms. According to report, the greatest fire activity of the enemy was recorded near Vodiane in the Sea of Azov sector and near Zolote in Luhansk region. Near the latter, in addition to the abovementioned arsenal, the occupying troops used 82mm mortars, the report said.

Separatists twice fired at Ukrainian positions near Novoselivka-2 from anti-tank grenade launchers. They were also active near Avdiyivka, Pisky, Novomykhailivka, Starohnativka, Pavlopil, and Lebedynske.

“The commanders of the defending units took decisive measures to suppress enemy fire. Two soldiers from the Joint Forces were wounded during the fighting,” the report said.
