Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov has met with Hannes Hanso, chairman of the Estonian Parliament’s National Defense Committee Hannes Hanso to discuss issues involving security in Europe in the context of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine.

A statement on the NSDC’s website reads that during their meeting the parties discussed, among other issues, ways to step up bilateral military-technological cooperation, as well as ways to broaden cooperation among security agencies of the two countries.

Also, during their meeting, some time was allocated to discuss the prolongations of sanctions imposed by the EU upon the Russian Federation and the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which is posing a threat not only to the Ukrainian but also to the European energy systems.

In his turn, Hanso said that Estonia will continue to support Ukraine’s course towards the European Union, the statement concludes.
