Court received a claim from MP from the pro-Russian Opposition Platform – For Life party Viktor Medvedchuk to challenge decree on the imposition of sanctions against him.
“On March 16, 2021, the Cassation Administrative Court within the Supreme Court received a lawsuit, which appeals against decree of the President of Ukraine No. 64/2021 dated Feb. 19, 2021 on the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated Feb. 19, 2021 on the introduction of amendments into personal special economic and other restrictive measures [sanctions], namely, Clause 7 of Appendix 1, according to which sanctions were imposed on plaintiff, citizen of Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk,” the Supreme Court said on Facebook.
The claim was assigned the registration number of case No. 9901/73/21. The status of consideration of this case can be monitored in the section “Status of Consideration of Cases” on the official website of the Supreme Court.
As reported, the NSDC imposed sanctions against Medvedchuk and his wife on Feb. 19 due to the financing of terrorism; on Feb. 20, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky put it into effect by his decree.
