An agreement on a new ceasefire in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, after midnight on March 8 was reached on Thursday, March 7, at a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group’s security subgroup at peace talks in Minsk, Ukraine’s envoy to the TCG Yevhen Marchuk has said.
“The most important thing is that after all, we’ve reached the agreement today and all the parties have agreed on a ceasefire from 00:00 Kyiv time. But until there are guarantees from the Russian Federation and mainly from the leaders of the Russian Federation, Mr. Putin or his representatives, unfortunately, there is no hope for a very great optimism. The ball is on the Russian side,” Marchuk said on Pryamiy TV Channel on Thursday.
