The Security Service of Ukraine has prevented the smuggling of components for military transport aircraft AN-72 and AN-74 to Russia.

According to the SBU press center, the lawbreakers illegally registered the details at the customs and cargo warehouse at the Kyiv airport (Zhuliany). At the same time, they used fake shipping documents and did not have the appropriate permissions from the State Service of Export Control.

According to the investigation, it was planned to send the equipment through third countries to customers acting in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

As part of the special operation, a series of searches were carried out in warehouses and places of residence of the defendants in Kyiv. Components for military aircraft were seized, as well as customs and technical documentation, which proves the planning of illegal deliveries.

The direct executor was informed of suspicion under Article 333 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the procedure for making international transfers of goods that are subject to state expert control).

The pretrial investigation is ongoing.
