Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) on May 13 at 06:00 searched the house of Oleksandr Tupytsky, whose decree appointing him a judge of the Constitutional Court was revoked.
“We confirm the fact of searches at several addresses, including in Vasylkiv,” the SBI told Interfax-Ukraine.
Investigative actions are authorized by Pechersky District Court of Kyiv.
According to the ZN.UA publication, citing sources in the SBI, the search was conducted in the presence of Tupytsky, his wife, two minor children and an attorney-at-law.
“According to Part 1 of Article 234 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, the search is carried out in order to identify information about the circumstances of the crime, search for a criminal offense or property obtained as a result of its commission, as well as to identify wanted persons,” Pechersky District Court of Kyiv said in the ruling.
According to the publication, the decision does not contain the content of evidence, as the petition is limited to the secrecy of the pretrial investigation. The court hearing at which the search was decided was held behind closed doors in accordance with the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.
