Leader of the New Forces Movement party, ex-head of Odesa regional state administration, Mikheil Saakashvili, was on the roof of the house on 7 Kostelna Street in the center of Kyiv on Dec. 5 morning. Law enforcement officers are searching his apartment.
A lot of journalists and political supporters gathered outside the house. The politician talked with them. “They want to kidnap me, because I rallied Ukrainian people’s defense. They wanted to kidnap me unnoticed, but they failed to do this,” Saakashvili said addressing the gathering.
He also urged the Kyivans not to admit lawlessness, and law enforcement officers not carry out criminal orders.
Later, the politician disappeared from their field of vision. According to the NewsOne TV channel, which televised the event live, Saakashvili was taken from the roof of the house.
According to the TV channel, there are MPs Yuriy Derevianko and Viktor Chumak in the entrance of the house. They demand law-enforcers allow the lawyer to approach Saakashvili.
There is also a lawyer Ruslan Chernolutsky, who demonstrated the contract with Saakashvili to journalists and law enforcers, but he is not allowed to approach his client.
