A fourth S-400 air defense missile battalion has been put on combat duty in Crimea’s Dzhankoi, the Russian Black Sea Fleet said in a statement.
“S-400 Triumf air defense missile crews of the air defense formation of the Southern Military District’s Air and Air Defense Forces were put on combat duty in Dzhankoi today to guard the skies of Crimea,” fleet spokesman Alexei Rulev told Interfax on November 29.
Three such systems have already been put on combat duty in Crimea: one in Feodosiya in January 2017, one in Sevastopol in January 2018, and one in Yevpatoriya in September 2018.
Dzhankoi is about 30 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border.
