MOSCOW – The Minsk agreements is the only way to settle the war in Donbas, the nuclear deal on Iran should be preserved, and Russia’s rights in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) should be reinstated, high-ranking representatives from the Russian and German foreign ministries said.

These and other topics were discussed between Russia’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov and the German Federal Foreign Office’s State Secretary Andreas Michaelis on May 28, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

“When discussing international issues, special attention was given to Ukrainian conflict with an emphasis on the non-alternativeness of the Minsk agreements as the basis for its settlement and the implementation of the agreements over ‘Normandy-format’ summit meetings, of 2015- 2016,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
