You're reading: Russia bans imports of Ukrainian beer, wheat

MOSCOW – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree imposing a ban on some Ukrainian goods.

“It is a retaliatory measure to the sanctions restrictions imposed by Ukraine,” Medvedev said on Twitter.

Among banned goods are Ukrainian wheat and meslin, as well as malt beer, according to a Russian government resolution published on Dec. 29.

Shipments of sunflower, safflower and cottonseed oil and their fractions have also been prohibited.
