The introduction of martial law in Ukraine may restrict temporarily some constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens.
“In connection with the introduction of martial law in Ukraine temporarily, for the duration of the legal regime of martial law, constitutional rights and freedoms of a person and citizen may be limited, as provided for in Articles 30–34, 38, 39, 41–44, 53 of the Constitution, as well as temporary restrictions on the rights and legal interests of legal entities within the limits and scope necessary to ensure the possibility of introducing and implementing measures of the legal regime of martial law, as provided for by part one of Article 8 of the law “On the legal regime of martial law,” says Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s decree (No. 391/2018) “On the imposition of martial law in Ukraine,” published on the Verkhovna Rada’s website as an annex to the draft law “On the imposition of martial law in Ukraine.”
In particular, the right to inviolability of the home may be restricted.
