The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (OSCE SMM) will continue working throughout Ukraine, despite the threat of the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus, and also takes all necessary measures and warnings to minimize risks, the Mission said.

“The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) continues to implement its mandate throughout Ukraine. Being aware and mindful of the threat posed by COVID-19 to the general public, the SMM is taking all necessary measures and precautions to minimize risks,” the press service of the OSCE SMM told Interfax-Ukraine on March 19.

Thus, the OSCE SMM denied rumors that it could allegedly stop working in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Over the past week, about 600 local residents in the temporarily occupied territory of Donbas turned to doctors with symptoms of SARS, and 91 people with suspected pneumonia, Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada Liudmyla Denisova said on her Facebook page on March 18.
