You're reading: OSCE expects Normandy format talks on Donbas to intensify soon

There are reasons to expect that the Normandy format negotiations on Donbas will intensify soon, Martin Sajdik, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)’s special envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine (TCG), said on May 4.

Sajdik told journalists in Minsk that Pierre Morel, the coordinator of the TCG’s political subgroup, has said repeatedly that interaction with the Normandy format participants is very important for the subgroup to work successfully.

Therefore, there are grounds to expect that now that important domestic political processes have just been completed in one country and are about to be completed in another, the Normandy participants will boost these efforts, Sajdik said.
