You're reading: One soldier wounded in 28 attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas over past day

One Ukrainian soldier was wounded as militants opened fire on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces 28 times over the past 24 hours, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) headquarters has said.

“Russian-led forces opened fire on the positions of our troops 28 times. The separatists used weapons banned by the Minsk agreements six times […] One soldier of the Joint Forces was wounded in fighting,” the JFO HQ said in a report on its Facebook page early on October 1.

Over the past day, Russia-backed separatists fired at the positions of the Joint Forces near Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Katerynivka, Novozvanivka, Troitske, Luhanske, Opytne, Pisky, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane, Lebedynske, and Shyrokyne.

On October 1, the separatists twice fired at the positions of the Joint Forces from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms in the vicinity of Novotroitske and Vodiane, with no casualties recorded among Ukrainian soldiers.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, four separatists were killed and eight others were injured in the past 24 hours.
