New qualification requirements for children’s cardiologists, rheumatologists, cardiac electrophysiologists and interventional cardiologist took effect from Jan. 1.
As reported, in December, the Health Ministry of Ukraine approved amendments to the reference document on qualification requirements for employees.
The document introduces the following new occupations: interventional cardiologist, cardiac electrophysiologist, children’s cardiologist and children’s rheumatologist.
The ministry said that earlier for employment in reperfusion centers doctors had to additionally receive specialization in vascular surgery or roentgenology, while the revision of the requirements and the introduction of new occupations will help to eliminate the legal uncertainty.
In addition, such changes will reduce the time of training for doctors.
