You're reading: NABU completes investigation into fact of declaring invalid data by Trukhanov

Investigators from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) have completed an investigation into the facts that Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov indicated false information in electronic declarations for 2015 and 2016.

The press service of the NABU said on May 3 the mayor was provided with the investigation materials for review before drawing up an indictment and sending it to court.

According to the investigators, the mayor of Odesa did not include in the declaration information about the property and income owned by his former wife, to whom the official in 2015-2016 was tied with common life, had mutual rights and duties. The suspect was officially married to her from 1985 to 1997, they have two common children, and one child was born in 2000, after the official divorce.

The NABU said the mayor of Odesa had not declared an apartment, two parking spaces, a boathouse, a summer house, non-residential real estate, two cars, shares in a number of business entities, interest on deposits in banks. In total, the declaration for 2015 misses property for a total of Hr 32.48 million, the declaration for 2016 some Hr 18.81 million. The amount of undeclared property is determined on the basis of examinations conducted as part of the pretrial investigation.
