The new academic year at Ukrainian schools will begin on schedule, September 1, and end no later than July 1, 2022, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine reports.

“The educational process at schools begins on Knowledge Day – September 1, lasts at least 175 school days, and ends no later than July 1 of the next year. The structure and duration of the academic year, week, day, classes, forms of organization of the educational process are determined by the pedagogical council of the institution within the time provided by the educational program, taking into account the age characteristics, physical, mental and intellectual development of children, the characteristics of the region,” the press service of the Ministry of Education said.

The ministry recommends dedicating the first lesson in the new academic year to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.

It is reported that when preparing the lesson, you can use: thematic materials from the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, which contain, in particular, information about the stages of the Ukrainian state, the restoration of independence, the Constitution of Pylyp Orlyk, as well as resources from the Osvitoria NGO for a thematic lesson for Independence Day in grades 1-11.

In addition, on September 1, schools can also join an interactive lesson for students in grades 1-6. The broadcast of the lesson will begin on September 1 at 9:30 am on the YouTube page of the Osvitoria NGO.
