The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemns the shelling of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) near the settlement of Holmivske (Donetsk region), Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mariana Betsa has said.
“Strongly condemn attacks on SMM monitors. Their safety and freedom of movement should be safeguarded by Russia and its proxies,” she said on Twitter on August 17.
As reported, on August 16, a patrol of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission consisting of five mission personnel on two armored vehicles came under attack by unknown persons on the northeastern outskirts of Holmivske in an area uncontrolled by Kyiv, 49 kilometers northeast of Donetsk.
