French President Emmanuel Macron said on Oct. 1 that the implementation of the Minsk agreements is necessary to resolve the Ukrainian issue, and there are no other options for this.
“On the Ukrainian issue, these are the Minsk agreements. And only the Minsk agreements. Everything is very simple,” said Macron, speaking at the PACE.
He noted that together with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, he is working to ensure that these agreements are implemented in practice.
Macron said he hopes to hold a summit in the Normandy format at the level of heads of state and government in the coming weeks. He expressed hope that this meeting will allow “to begin a new stage.”
