The loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on the attraction of EUR 50 million for development of infrastructure on the Dnipro River is at the final stage.
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that Deputy Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Viktor Dovhan gave the information at the Ukrainian Infrastructure Forum 2018 in Kyiv on April 19.
“This year we started repairing locks. This must be continued, as nothing had been done for 25 years. We also need to conduct dredging. Thus, Hr 20 million will be sent to repair of locks and Hr 30 million will be left for dredging and development of hydro-technical facilities on the Dnipro River,” he said.
As reported, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority plans to carry out dredging works on the inland water ways with a total volume of 1.6 million cubic meters and spend Hr 80 million on this.
A separate division of the authority – Dredging Fleet – will be engaged in dredging works at ports and inland water ways.
