Lithuania is ready to help Ukraine in the issue of vaccination against coronavirus infection COVID-19 and provide a vaccine, in particular, for residents of Donbas, said Chairperson of the Lithuanian Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen.

“We did not ignore the topic of COVID-19 and vaccination. I assured that we would also join vaccination in Ukraine. It is very symbolic, but we want this vaccine to help in the regions of Donbas,” Čmilytė-Nielsen said at a joint briefing with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov on May 12.

Razumkov, in turn, thanked the speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas for the position regarding the territorial integrity and defense capability of Ukraine, for the assistance that Ukraine receives “in terms of humanitarian aid, and in terms of vaccinations, and in terms of other joint developments,” which exist between the parliaments of Ukraine and Lithuania and friendship groups of both states.

“Our countries have a joint position on various international platforms: PACE, OSCE, NATO, UN and many others, where, even if there is no Ukraine, we see support from Lithuania. There are important issues in which we feel assistance in achieving common goals – this is cooperation within the European Union and within NATO, the implementation of the tasks that face the Ukrainian parliament and Ukraine as a whole,” said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
