City subway builder PJSC Kyivmetrobud has won the right to build two new subway stations extending the Syretsko–Pecherska line north to Vinogradar district, news website Economichna Pravda reported on Nov. 9, quoting tender results from the electronic state procurement system Prozzoro.

The tender was for the right to build two additional subway stations north of Syrets station. Kyivmetrobud won with a bid of Hr 5.981 billion ($210 million) to build two stations – Mostytska and Prospekt Pravdy – as well as a train depot and a section line towards the planned Vynohradar station.

The tender was concluded on Nov. 8, with Kyivmetrobud offering Hr 12 million less than the initial cost named by Kyiv Metro, and Hr 8 million less than their only competitor, Interbudmontazh Construction Association, a large privately owned construction company based in Kyiv.

Kyivimetrobud, which previously built all of Kyiv’s 52 subway stations, is owned by multiple offshore companies, according to Economichna Pravda. On Oct. 31, the company appointed a new CEO, Vasyl Kobyl, who is relatively unknown to the general public.

On Nov. 8, the same day Kyivmetrobud won its tender, Kyiv City Council Deputy Head Dmytro Davtyan announced that China Railway International Group had completed a pre-construction analysis and was ready to build the new 18-kilometer Podilsko–Vyhurivska line.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko on Nov. 22, 2017 signed a $2 billion memorandum with China Pacific Construction Group, a consortium including China Railway International Group and China Pacific Construction Group. The consortium plans to build 13 new subway stations in Kyiv, including three connecting stations and a train depot.

The project is planned to be concluded by 2025, with the new Podilsko–Vyhurivska line running from Zhuliany district in the south-west of the city, to Troyeshchyna district in the north-east.
