Iran has confirmed its interest in completing the talks on the settlement of the issues related to the Ukraine International Airlines’ (UIA) flight PS752, which was downed over Tehran in January, as soon as possible, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine said.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran for International and Legal Affairs Mohsen Bakharvand, who is also the head of Iran’s delegation to the talks in Ukraine, said this during a meeting with Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv on July 31, the ministry said.

“He (Bakharvand) confirmed that Iran undertakes responsibility for downing the Ukrainian plane and will seriously treat its international legal obligations to investigate into the circumstances of the tragedy, draw those guilty to responsibility and pay necessary compensations,” the press service said.

Kuleba, in turn, noted the Iran’s position during July 30 talks was positive. He said that Ukraine will continue building negotiations in a constructive manner and expressed hope that Iran will be sticking to its position through the negotiation process.
