You're reading: Kyiv reports three soldiers wounded amid 57 separatist attacks in Donbas in last day

Russia-led forces have mounted 57 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with three Ukrainian soldiers reported as wounded in action (WIA), the press center of the headquarters of Ukraine’s military operations has reported.

“Over the past day, Russia-backed separatists carried out 57 shelling attacks on the positions of our defenders. (…) As a result of the separatist fire, two Ukrainian soldiers were injured. Another one received a battle trauma,” the press center of the headquarters of Ukraine’s military operations reported on Facebook on March 30 morning.

In the Donetsk sector, the separatists used 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and cannons of infantry fighting vehicles against the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Pavlopil. The Ukrainian troops deployed in the village of Shyrokyne came under fire from 82mm mortars, while grenade launchers of various types and small arms were used by the invaders near the town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Vodyane, Hnutove, Pisky, Opytne, Novotroyitske, Lebedynske and Pyshchevyk.

In the Luhansk sector, Russia-led forces opened fire from grenade launchers and small arms to attack the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Artemove, while heavy machine guns were used near the village of Luhanske.
