Kyiv City Council deputies at a plenary meeting on Oct. 12 supported the renaming of ten streets in Kyiv and gave names to 39 new streets, the city council’s website has reported.
In particular, Krasnovodska Street was renamed Khotynska Street (Podilsky district), Dniprodzerzhynska – Kamianska (Darnytsky district), Mykoly Lebedeva Street – Yuria Popravky Street (Dniprovsky district), Yaroslava Halana – Avhustyna Voloshyna (Solomiansky district), Dnipropetrovska – Novokodatska (Solomiansky district), Krasnodonskaa – Kuchmyn Yar (Solomiansky district), Lebedeva-Kumacha – Mykoly Holeho (Solomiansky district), Sotsialistychna – Lva Matsiyevycha (Solomiansky district), Tymofia Shamrylo – Parkovo-Syretska (Shevchenkivsky district), Yezhena Potie – Antona Tsedika (Shevchenkivsky district).
In addition, Horkoho Lane in the Holosiyivsky district was renamed Borysa Shakhlina Lane, Dnipropetrovske Highway was renamed Dniprovske Highway, and Internatsionalna Square was renamed Valeria Marchenka Square.
The deputies also approved the names for 39 new streets, 24 of which are located in the Holosiyivsky district and 15 in the Desniansky district. They received the names of Nazariy Yaremchuk, Ostap Veresay, Borys Matiushenko, Oleksandr Udovichenko, Serhiy Shelukhin, Hryhoriy Holoskevych, Feodosiy Pechersky, Mykhailo Belinsky, Vasyl Bidnov, Simya Voronykh, Yaroslava Stetsko, Hryhoriy Kosynka, Les Taniuk, Yevhen Pluzhnyk, and Isa Munayev.
