You're reading: Kremlin deems it important to continue captive swaps with Ukraine

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that Russia and Ukraine should continue to exchange captives but could not say when the next stage of exchanges might begin.

“There is an understanding of the need to carry on this process, especially in the context of the Minsk Agreements,” Peskov said in response to journalists’ question of whether Russia and Ukraine would continue to swap captives.

“I think it would be premature to speak about the date of the next exchange, but there is an understanding that this should be done,” he said.
