Co-chairman of the Opposition Bloc Party Borys Kolesnikov has stated inevitability of punishment is needed for real fight against smuggling in Ukraine.
“The main problem is that the prime minister declares war on smuggling in the hall where at least two-thirds are involved in smuggling schemes … Smuggling will continue while there is no inevitability of punishment. And it is impossible without the assistance of law enforcement agencies,” Kolesnikov said on the air of Ukraina TV Channel.
As for privatization, Kolesnikov said it is necessary to consider separately each lot to understand whether businesses are interested.
At the same time, he expressed opinion that investors can be interested in buying energy companies in Ukraine.
“All money received from the sale of large assets cannot be eaten. It is needed for the country’s development. It is necessary to open a special development fund. If you sold for 20 billion, then you must invest this money in new roads and infrastructure,” the politician added.
In his opinion, it is also necessary to close the state property committee and launch modern agencies for the asset sale and management.
“The best asset management is a stock exchange,” the official added.
