Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko says he has no plans to run for president in 2019.

“It will be unfair to skip from one post to another,” Klitschko told journalists on the sidelines of the 15th YES Annual Meeting organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

He stressed that he had promised residents of Kyiv that they would be able to be proud of their city, and he would carry out the promise.

At the same time, Klitschko did not rule out that after it was achieved in Kyiv, he’d ready to offer “to do this in every city.”

Answering a question about possible support for incumbent President Petro Poroshenko in the upcoming presidential elections, the mayor said he had not yet heard from Poroshenko about his plans to run for a new term.

“If there is an announcement, I’ll be able to express my viewpoint then,” he added.
