Ukrainian consults in Moscow are working to get access to Ukrainian naval personnel taken prisoners of war by Russians near the Kerch Strait on November 25, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.

“At least by phone, Russia’s representatives have confirmed to us that our guys are in Moscow. Ukrainian consuls are working to get immediate access to them,” he wrote in a tweet on Twitter.

At the same time, Klimkin said that the failure to provide information and refusal of access to the Ukrainian seamen to the Ukrainian consuls is an offense in accordance with international law.
