Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine not to introduce a hard lockdown.

“Lockdown will finish off small and medium-sized businesses, which are not easily going through this year. It is very important to take into account that right before Mykolai [Saint Nicholas Day], before the New Year and Christmas holidays, entrepreneurs earn those funds that will support their households, their employees during the second half of January, February and even half of March, almost till the Easter holidays,” Martsinkiv said during a live broadcast on Facebook.

“Therefore, we ask the government not to introduce a full lockdown, and to do everything so that our city, our country can survive in such a difficult time,” he said.

Martsinkiv also reported a decrease in the number of coronavirus disease patients in the city.
