Industrial production in Ukraine in 2017 decreased by 0.1 percent compared to 2016, and in December it decreased by 0.5 percent, the State Statistics Service has said.
The authority said that with the adjustment to the effect of calendar days industrial production in December increased by 0.4 percent from December 2016.
In comparison with the previous month in December of 2016 industrial production grew by 1 percent, however, taking into account the seasonal factor it increased by 1.9 percent.
The rise in processing industry in December 2017 was 4.4 percent, while the decline in mining and quarrying was 4.4 percent, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning some 13.3 percent.
In general, for 2017 industrial production in Ukraine increased by 4 percent, while in mining industry the decline was 5.8 percent, and in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning 6.5 percent.
As reported, industrial production grew by 2.4 percent in 2016 after a decline seen four years in a row: 13 percent in 2015, 10.1 percent in 2014, 4.3 percent in 2013 and 0.7 percent in 2012.
