You're reading: In April, 520 people included into register of corrupt officials

During April, some 520 entries were made to the Ukrainian Register of Corruptors in relation to persons prosecuted for corruption offenses, the press service of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) reported on May 19.

It is noted that in April, 200 members of local councils, 24 officials of local self-government bodies, 28 employees of the National Police, 20 civil servants and 20 jurors were brought to criminal liability for corruption offenses.

In April, most of the citizens included in the Register of Corruptors were prosecuted for offering, promising, or providing an improper benefit (82), accepting an offer, promise, or obtaining an improper benefit (17) and abuse of influence (12).

There were also recorded cases of seizure and misappropriation of property, abuse of power or official position, etc.

“Since the beginning of the year, 2,343 entries have been made to the register […] As of May 18, there are 36,818 entries in the register of corrupt officials, of which 5,970 are for criminal corruption offenses and 12,875 for administrative offenses,” the NACP said.
