The inauguration of the Ukrainian language and literature department has taken place at the University of Istanbul, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Liliia Hrynevych has said.
“A piece of good news from Istanbul – the speciality “Ukrainian Language and Literature” has been opened at the Istanbul University. For the first time the students of Turkey have got an opportunity in the framework of higher education not only to study the Ukrainian language but also to plunge into our culture,” the education minister wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
She also said that within the framework of negotiations, agreements on holding free summer courses in the Ukrainian language for students studying the Ukrainian language in Turkey were reached. “Previously, such summer courses can start this year on the basis of Ukrainian universities,” Hrynevych said.
