You're reading: Health minister calls on business to join fight against COVID-19

Health Minister of Ukraine Illia Yemets has sent a letter to the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, Confederation of Employers of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Council of Business, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP), the European Business Association and the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine urging to render the feasible help to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic in the shortest possible time.

“The collected funds will be concentrated and used to coordinate the procurement of high-quality and reliable personal protective equipment for health workers (respirators, masks, gloves, suits and gowns, goggles), as well as for the acquisition of diagnostic tests, artificial lungs ventilation machines, cardiac monitors, gas analyzers, oxygen concentrators, disinfectants and medicines,” the press service of the Ministry of Health said, citing Yemets as saying.

Involving a socially responsible business in the fight against coronavirus is reportedly a worldwide trend supported by the World Health Organization.
