European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze condemned the amendments to the law on electronic declaration made by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on March 23.
“A good exchange of views with Deputy Prime Minister Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze on difficult challenges Ukraine is facing and impressive reform efforts achieved. Changes to the law on e-declaration are a step back, not forward, and should be reconsidered,” Hahn wrote on his Twitter page.
“E-declarations should target corruption in public administration – not hamper work of the civil society. Civil society organizations fighting corruption play crucial role in this regard,” Hahn noted, commenting on the situation with the law on e-declaration.
