You're reading: Government fires all members of Naftogaz supervisory board

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has dismissed members of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy, who are representatives of the state, Yulia Kovaliv, Nataliya Boyko, and Yulia Svyrydenko, following the resignation of independent directors in early September.

“The powers of all members of the supervisory board have been terminated, so now the shareholder (the government) and the new management will make all decisions important for the company,” Kovaliv wrote on her Facebook page.

As reported, after receiving letters of resignation of independent directors in early September, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal ordered to announce a competition for the selection of three more independent directors to the previously announced competition for the selection of one independent member of the supervisory board.

According to him, the competition will be completed in November this year, so that the new composition of the supervisory board has enough time to determine the requirements for a candidate for the post of head of the Naftogaz board and hold a competition for his election no later than May 1 of next year.

In the period when the supervisory board is not formed, if necessary, some of its functions can be performed by the Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting of shareholders, approving the necessary decisions.
