Russia does not respond to the proposals about the exchange of Ukrainian political prisoners held in Russia for Russian convicts held in Russia, First Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament and Ukraine’s envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group’s humanitarian subgroup Iryna Gerashchenko has said.

“We are ready to hand over 22 of their criminals to Russia — citizens of Russia convicted in Ukraine for crimes against our sovereignty – in exchange for Kremlin political prisoners, including Sentsov, Sushchenko and others. In 2018, we made dozens of official proposals to Moscow at various venues – in Minsk, and through the Foreign Ministry. Until now, there have been no official responses from Moscow, including responses to diplomatic letters and notes,” Gerashchenko said on Facebook on Tuesday.

Ukraine has repeatedly declared its readiness to immediately transfer 22 of their citizens detained and convicted in Ukraine to Russia.
