Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Danyliuk, who had tendered his resignation, has praised Kurt Volker’s activities during his term as the United States special representative for Ukraine.
“Highly appreciate efforts and competence @SpecRepUkraine – true #UA friend,” Danyliuk tweeted on Sept. 28.
He thanked Volker for his “devoted service to Ukrainian-American relations.”
According to U.S. media, on Sept. 27, Volker met with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and informed him about his decision to step down.
It also emerged on Sept. 27, that Danyliuk had tendered his resignation before the beginning of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the U.S., before Sept. 23.
